Mattermost notifications

Before you start

  1. Enable bot accounts on your Mattermost server and create a bot with an access token.
  2. Add the bot to the destination channel and copy the channel ID.
  3. Enter the server origin including an installation subpath, if present. Do not append /api/v4/posts. This integration uses API v4 and only posts messages.

The server must be reachable from CertOne over the public internet. Private-network, localhost and reserved addresses are not supported. Use the final server URL directly; redirects are not followed.

Configuration

FieldRequiredDefault
Server URLYes—
Bot tokenYes—
Channel IDYes—

Test and enable

  1. In CertOne, add a notification target and choose this channel.
  2. Fill in the configuration and send a test message.
  3. Check that the message arrived at the intended destination, then save the target.
  4. Select the saved target in the settings for the notification events you need.

A successful API response means the service accepted the request. It does not prove that the final client or mailbox received it. If a request times out, delivery may already have occurred; check the destination before retrying.

Long messages are shortened to fit the channel limit and include a link to the console for full details.

Troubleshooting

  • Use the server origin (including any installation subpath), without /api/v4/posts. Enable a bot account and add it to the destination channel. Requires Mattermost API v4.
  • Check token permissions, account quota, destination ID and server reachability.
  • Sensitive credentials are not included in returned error messages.
